The Pikey peak (4,068m), is one of the tallest mountains of Solukhumbu. The name “Pikey” is derived from the Sherpa language. The North Side is Tapting and Gora Khani, backside of is Goli Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu. This spot is well known for its magnificent view of sunrise, sunset & Himalayan range like Mt.Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjungha, Gauri Shankar, Lhotse Shar, Number, Khatang, Karyalung, Annapurna, Nuptse, Amadablam, Shishapangma, Thamserku and Mera peak etc. It covers three major villages of Solukhumbu. The main highlight of this trail is observing local ancient and new monasteries and also observe the different culture, languages, lifestyle of the Sherpa, Magar and Tamang’s including Himalayan floras and faunas and splendid high altitude vegetation. Pikey Trail is preferred by tourist wanting to see the local flowers like Rhododendron flower, Magnolia and wild orchids. Some tourists also come to see the purification ritual festival during the month of August when thousands of devotees walk to the lake for the festival from the village all around Solukhumbu.
